Awesome Red Hot Chili Pepper the Dog needs a home
Meet Red Hot Chili Pepper aka Red. Red's owner lost his home and was living in his truck. He began to worry about Red getting too hot in his truck while he was at work so he contacted the local ASPCA. Knowing it was the right thing to do for Red, he surrendered him to the SPCA to give him a chance at a safe and stable home.
Red is a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix who's about 4 years old, weighing around 67 pounds. He has gorgeous eyes - one blue one brown. This boy has the coolest personality—he is super laid back. He knows really cool tricks (like shaking with both hands, sit, down, up, etc.) and he takes treats oh so gently. He is good with other dogs, although he does play rough sometimes—he doesn’t know his own strength. Proper introductions are required. He is easily corrected and is truly a gentle giant who is looking for a family to love him. He will need a family who will give him the time he needs to settle into a new home. The rewards of giving him time will be worth it. He is truly an awesome dog.
Red has been undergoing leash training and is so eager to please that he has been doing fantastic. We do feel that he will do best with a strong handler and a fenced in yard. According to his previous owner, he was bitten by a copperhead and has a scar down his back. He is a really fun dog and was a real favorite at the SPCA before he came to 11th Hour!
